Patty is her name she has lived here her entire life, Has three kids that are about my age. I am privileged to work along side of her! At first things where a little Rocky. That being she maybe said five or six words total in an entire day to me. Which I would then compensated for by talking ALL day long. I tried to ask questions but it was always a yes, no or an I don't know.
A LITTLE MORE.....
Patty being in house keeping for the last 13 ish years, her diet has not changed a soda in the morning and a LARGE bag of chips for snack and another soda or tea for the afternoon. One week she brought a bag of chips and cottage cheese and eat that all week long. Things finally started to change and she started sharing things and telling me stories of back in the day. She started talking about her kids to me and her grandson who she watches almost every night so that her daughter can work. Patty smokes and thinks no one knows, but really EVERYONE knows. She lives near camp and the only time she does not work is if there is snow on the ground. She has a tanning bed on here front porch and tans everyday for 10 mins. She will randomly say " what time is it?" and as I look for the time " NO Karen is SMOKING time" and we both end up laughing... I feel as if I could talk about her for ever. She has come out of her shell.
As I moved out here and I trying to see why God has placed me out here has been some what of a challenge. Yes that is where I live ha ha. But in all seriousness being able to work along side Patty has been awesome. Watching her change and be someone completely new that know one has seen. I have been told Patty never talked to anyone or laughed, she was not really even seen much. Now we spend most of the day Laughing or she is just Laughing at me some times. But it is truly a blessing to get to know and serve with My friend.
One morning this last week I was late to work and did not sleep much, she found me and said, "I thought today was going to be a rough one and I made you some coffee. I thought you would want some"! As I turned around I said " thanks Patty I really appreciate you"! When I turned back around she said" Karen I really appreciate you to and enjoy being around you"........ I wanted to jump all around and scream but I held it all in and said Thanks.
I hope you can see just a little bit of who My friend Patty is!
